Elizabeth Cooper is the Lead Facilitator for the Climigration Network and an Associate at the Consensus Building Institute. At CBI, she supports collaboration and consensus-building processes through facilitation, community engagement, and synthesizing stakeholder input into public decision-making processes. She also conducts stakeholder assessments and research regarding climate, natural resources, and energy issues. She previously served as the Lawrence Susskind Graduate Fellow and as a consultant at CBI.
Prior to joining CBI, Elizabeth worked as an associate of the UMass Boston Center for Governance and Sustainability, researching the level of implementation that environmental treaties achieve among party countries. Her previous research projects include a study of neighborhood collectives organizing to develop local water systems in Cochabamba, Bolivia, and an examination of the Zapatista’s efforts to increase food autonomy in Chiapas, Mexico.
Elizabeth is a trained mediator and mediates regularly in the Massachusetts courts, assisting a diverse clientele in resolving a range of personal and housing disputes.
